Cha-Cha

In 1951 Cuban musician Enrique Jorrin wrote “La Engañadora”, the first Chachachá composition. Also developed from the Cuban Danzón, Cha Cha got its name from the sound the dancers' feet made on the dance floor, “chachacha”. Chachachá music is danced with the accent on the second beat. The name of the dance was later shorten to Cha-Cha.

The dance consists of three quick steps (triple step or cha cha cha) and two slower steps
