Disco/Hustle A musician by the name Van McCoy wrote the song “The Hustle” about a hot new dance trend emerging in a few night clubs. This trend, were people went from dancing freestyle to dancing with a partner, exploded in the 1970’s. Hustle is danced to the contemporary pop dance music of the last 20 years.
